Tournaments

Every tournament still open for registration is listed on Find tournaments— no account needed to browse. Point it at your location (use-my-location or a ZIP code) and filter by division: men's, women's, mixed, or Open (anyone can enter), and juniors, adults, 40+ or 55+ age brackets. Events are sorted by soonest registration deadline, and every card links to a public info page you can share.

Signed in, the Tournaments page shows events in the zones your players belong to, plus tabs for the ones you've entered.

Eligibility follows the tournament's play type. A “Women's singles, 40+” event checks gender and age at registration; an Open division has no gender or age restriction, and a tournament with no category at all is open to everyone.

Some tournaments also set a minimum skill floor(Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, or Tournament level). You clear it either with the skill level on your player profile or with an earned TFL rating above the equivalent bar — so a floor keeps mismatched beginners out of an advanced draw, but there's never a cap that keeps strong players out. You can register any time before the registration deadline; once it passes, entry closes. Free tournaments just take the spot. If there's an entry fee, your card is charged when you register — payment goes through Stripe to the organizer.

• Withdraw early, full refund.Withdrawing while you're still outside the tournament's refund window (by default, more than 7 days before the event — organizers can adjust this) refunds the entry fee in full.
• Inside the window, the fee is no longer refundable.
• If the organizer cancels, everyone is refunded in full, automatically.
• If the organizer reschedules,you get a fresh grace period to withdraw with a full refund if the new date doesn't work.

Refunds are issued to the original card and typically appear in 5–10 business days.

If a tournament is full, you can still join — you're added to the waitlist, free of charge. When a registered player withdraws before the deadline, the longest-waiting person is automatically promoted into the open spot and the entry fee (if any) is charged to their card on file. You'll get an email either way, and you can leave the waitlist any time before the deadline.

Doubles events are entered as a team. When you form a team with a partner who manages their own account, they must confirm the partnership first — a team that's still pending consent can't enter tournaments (or post play invitations). Either member can leave the team at any time, which dissolves it.

Entry fees for doubles are one team fee, charged to the card of the person who registers the team — never split, and never charged to the partner. The same single-fee rule applies if the team is promoted from the waitlist.

In a standard tournament, the organizerruns the show: they publish the draw, pair the matches, and report every score (even saving scores offline at the venue and syncing later). Players don't report tournament scores themselves.

Virtual leagueswork differently: the draw assigns you an opponent per round, and the two of you arrange your own match anywhere within the round's window. You report the result in the app and your opponent confirms it — the same confirm-or-dispute flow as regular matches. Standings update as rounds complete, top finishers advance to the playoffs, and the playoff bracket crowns a champion. Some leagues run as recurring series, spawning a fresh season when one ends.

Live standings and completed brackets stay on the tournament's page. When the event completes, the champion and runner-up are recorded in the public Hall of Champions, and rated tournament matches move your zone rating like any other rated match.
