Zone eligibility

ZIP, city, and county zones — plus custom zones and clubs — are open to everyone. Pick the ones you want from your account zones page or per player from your roster. No gating, no waiting.

State and country zones are for each region's strongest players. By default you need to rank roughly in the top 10% of players in your state — or the top 5% nationally for the country zone — based on your best local-zone rating compared against the other players who call that state or country home. (The exact percentages are configurable, so treat these as the defaults.)

Eligibility is per zone level: qualifying for your state doesn't automatically qualify you for the country zone, which draws from a much deeper pool.

Joining isn't automatic — first register your interest in the state or country zone from the zones editor. On the 1st of every monthwe recompute eligibility, and every opted-in player who clears the bar is added to the zone. If you register mid-month, you'll be picked up at the next sweep.

Once you're in, a quiet month doesn't kick you out. If you drop below the threshold you keep your place for a grace period — 6 months by default — and removal only ever happens at a monthly sweep after that grace expires. Climb back over the bar in the meantime and nothing changes.

Champions are a separate system from zone eligibility. Every zone — not just states and countries — crowns its stars of the month, quarter, and year based on results during the period, and tournament podiums are recorded permanently in the public Hall of Champions.
